In 2023, Shaan was named Salesperson of the Year by the Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR), the fourth-largest REALTOR® association in the United States—a recognition of his outstanding performance, professionalism, and service to clients.
Shaan is the President-Elect of LIBOR, where he has served on the Board of Directors since 2020. He also serves as a Director for both the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and the New York State Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR), representing the interests of real estate professionals and consumers at both the national and state levels. At NYSAR, he chairs the Fair Housing and Cultural Diversity Committee, leading efforts to promote equitable access to housing across New York.

A Licensed Real Estate Instructor, Shaan teaches with a focus on ethical practice, consumer protection, and professional growth.
In 2025, he was honored with LIBOR’s Young Professionals Network “Visionary” Award, recognizing his leadership and forward-thinking contributions to the industry.

Before entering real estate, Shaan served as Director of Community Affairs and Constituent Services for Manhattan Borough President Scott M. Stringer. In that role, he spearheaded reforms to Manhattan’s 12 community boards, resulting in increased education and training for members and a significant rise in appointments from historically underrepresented communities.
In addition to his work on community-based planning and land use issues, Shaan authored Led Astray, a 2013 investigative report that exposed systemic abuses within New York City’s animal shelter system.
Shaan is a graduate of NYU’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, holding a B.S. in Economics and Marketing with a minor in Psychology.
